Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) provides added security to all eQuipt Client Portal accounts. You (if you have an eQuipt account) and/or your clients will experience the MFA process when logging in from an unrecognized location, a new network or browser, from a new device not previously associated with the security information on file, or due to a variety of other risk factors. MFA has also been embedded into the Password Recovery process to save you and your clients’ time by supporting self-service.

Age of Termination has been updated to align with recent changes at NFS and Pershing. Additionally, depending on the State and Age of Termination, eQuipt for New Accounts will auto-populate default responses for the “Manner in Which the Gift was Given”, based on State and Age of Termination.

In the sample below, the State in Which the Gift was Given is California and the Age of Termination is 18.  For this configuration, the Manner in Which the Gift was Given will default to ‘Created by Gift’. Had the Age of termination for this same sample been 22 - 25, the default Manner in Which the Gift was Given would be ‘Transfer by Fiduciary’.

UGMA/UTMA - Age of Termination Updates

One of the questions on the Owner Detail page has been simplified.
Before: “Does the client plan on sending or receiving third-party money, sending or receiving international money movements for any of their
accounts?”
After: “Will your client use any of their accounts for third-party or international transactions?”

To enhance eQuipt Client Portal security, a client who has at least one phone number on file, and the phone number is either incorrect or not the one they want to use for MFA, will no longer be allowed to authenticate using date-of-birth and zip code. Now, these individuals will be required to call eQuipt Support to update their phone number(s). They can still add, edit, or remove phone numbers in eQuipt Client Portal after they have successfully authenticated and signed in.

A banner message will now display on eQuipt Client Portal’s login page to let clients know when part of the portal’s functionality is unavailable due to maintenance or an unexpected event.

The Statement of Investment Selection (SIS) now downloads directly from the Wealth Management Platform (WMP).

This standardizes documentation between the two systems and is eSign eligible through eQuipt for New Accounts.

Going forward, your client may only grant non-discretionary authority according to the AMP Program’s Terms and Conditions; unless the account is indicated as discretionary in the Investment Selection section of the SIS. Trade confirmation language and respective signature lines have been removed. Billing details (i.e., advance vs. arrears, tiered vs. linear) will be added across all programs.

Disclosure language has been updated in the following sections: Discretion/Non-Discretion
General
Acknowledgement (including removing the additional client initials requirement)

Statement of Investment Selection

This form is specific to electing how trade confirmations are delivered. Only asset-based/wrap and discretionary accounts are eligible for the quarterly confirmation summary. All other accounts (transaction-based/non-wrap and/or non-discretionary) will default to trade-by-trade confirmations regardless of what is checked on the form.

If a client selects to receive the quarterly confirmation report, the client’s trade confirmations are bundled into one mailing and included in the quarterly custodian statement. There is no charge for quarterly confirmation delivery.

Where you’ll find this form and how it will work in eQuipt:
If multiple accounts are created at the same time, only one form is generated for all the accounts. If any of the accounts are not eligible for confirmation suppression, then the form defaults to all accounts receiving of trade confirmations.  If an account needs to be updated, please submit the form from Quik! where the form is searchable by the form name.

Spring Cleaning
3.25.2022

Spring is here, and so is a new round of eQuipt for New Accounts and eQuipt Client Portal updates and bug fixes.

• Reset Your Password Email Link: Before, the link in the “Reset Your Password” email would expire before the expected 10-minute window.
Now, the link will expire under these conditions, whichever comes first:
o The 10-minute window has passed
o The client already updated their password using the link (and tried to use it again later)
o eQuipt Support has generated a temporary password on behalf of the client after the link was sent via email.
Once the link expires, the client will need to have a new link sent to them by eQuipt Support, or they must click “Forgot Password” on the login screen to start the process again.

• 9-Digit Zip Code Portal Registration: Previously, clients with a full, 9-digit zip code were unable to register for the site. Now, clients will be able to
complete the registration whether they have a 5 or full 9-digit zip code.

We hope these updates improve your and your client’s eQuipt experience. Stay tuned for the next set of updates.
